Brownsburg West Middle School

The 8th Grade Baseball team defeated Westfield on Thursday night 9-2. Westfield opened the scoring in the 1st, scoring one run but the Bulldogs were able to score 6 unanswered. Alec Schuck singled to center field, which helped the Bulldogs tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. Bulldogs took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jaxon Gora doubled down the left field line, Ethan Wise doubled down the left field line, and Jake Wiggins singled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Griffin Rhoads led things off on the hill for the Bulldogs. The starting pitcher allowed eight hits and two runs (one earned) and pitched a complete game, commanding the strike zone and controlling things from the mound. The Bulldogs defense supported Rhoads by only having one error in the ball game. Both Hayden Higbie and Parker Condon assured the outfield was covered, both making diving plays to support the Dogs. Bulldogs amassed 13 hits in the game. Wise, Zach Hoover, and Schuck each collected two hits for the Bulldogs. Gora, Wise, and Schuck each drove in two runs for the Bulldogs.
