8th Grade Baseball Defeats Lebanon

William Walters collected three hits in three at-bats, as Brownsburg West defeated LMS Tigers 8-3 on Monday at Brownsburg West Middle School. Walters tripled in the first inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the third inning. LMS Tigers Gold jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Pease doubled, scoring two runs, and Carlson grounded out, scoring one run. Brownsburg West tied the game up in the bottom of the first thanks to three singles. Brownsburg took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Brady Wilburn singled down the left field line, and Lucas Sumner grounded out, each scoring one run. Roman Easton earned the win for Brownsburg. The pitcher gave up two hits and three runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking three. Ben Snellenbarger threw two innings of scoreless ball for Brownsburg West in relief. Ben gave up one hit, striking out two and walking one. Brownsburg West accumulated 12 hits in the game. Wilburn and Sumner were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Brownsburg West. Owen Cozza collected two hits for Brownsburg in three at bats. Brownsburg West turned one double play in the game.
