The 8th Grade Softball Team fell to Plainfield on Wednesday at Plainfield High School, 1-11. West played a stellar game, holding the Quakers 0-0, until the bottom of the third when Plainfield got on the board. The Quakers earned five runs. Raelyn Hoffer began on the mound for the Bulldogs with a strong defensive stopping big hits. Hoffer had two strikeouts and zero walks. Hoffer brought great pitching to the mound, then was relieved by Lucy Rose. Rose put in the work to end the game strong for the Bulldogs. Emma Staley remained powerful behind the plate, catching and blocking the whole game. Stella Faires sprinted all the way to right field to take away what would have been a massive hit for Plainfield. The Quakers scored another five runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning and one more in the fifth inning, ending the game. Hoffer went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Rose, Raegan James, McKenzie Garvey-Chase, and Hoffer each collected one hit for Brownsburg West 8th Bulldogs. Garvey-Chase stole two bases with high speed. Next up for the Bulldogs is a game against Danville on Tuesday.
