Bulldogs News · 7GBB Wins the Hendricks County Championship!

COUNTY CHAMPIONS! Your 7th grade girls basketball won the county championship in a way that only they can do: crazy! The girls started off too tight and nervous and got down to a Danville team that had nothing to lose. The Dogs were down 0-6 at the end of the first. Down 7-11 at the end of the 2nd. Down 9-17 at the end of the third. But Danville forgot about one thing: Brownsburg girls are tough! The Dogs dug deep and found their fight in the fourth quarter. West went all out full court man to man press and rattled the Warriors. Brenna Walters busted loose, Becca Rodgers snatched rebounds, Elle McCulloch hit jump shots, and Laniah Walkine hit a perfect three. But it all came down to last play of regulation. Sammy Clark grabbed an offensive rebound and got fouled with .6 seconds left in regulation. Down by one and shooting two free throws, Sammy missed her first one. Her teammates never doubted her and she sank the shot to send the game into overtime! In overtime it was all Bulldog Tough with Elle McCulloch going 4 for 4 from the line to ice the game. County champs by a score of 30-25. Bailey Barrow, Anabel Dudgeon, Aubrey Gallagher, Sammy Clark, Laniah Walkine, Elle McCulloch, Alyssa Bush, Faith Opafola, Brenna Walters, Becca Rodgers, and Chloe Scott end their season as champions. Congratulations girls!!!
