Bulldogs News · 7/8 GBB move on in the Hendricks County Tourney!

Last night the 7th grade girls basketball team advanced to the second round of county by defeating rival Avon North by a score of 30-21. The first half started slow for the Dogs and a couple of silly mistakes led to a 4 point deficit going into halftime. The team regrouped and outscored Avon 21 to 8 in the second half. Aubrey Gallagher had her best game of the season coming off the bench to make play after play. Laniah Walkine and Sammy Clark led all scorers with 8 each, Brenna Walters 6, Becca Rodgers 4, and Aubrey Gallagher and Elle McColloch each pitched in a basket. The Dogs are back in action tonight against Avon South at East. Good Luck Dogs!

Your 8th grade girls basketball team hosted the Orioles of Avon North last night in the 1st round of the County Tournament. Your Lady Dogs took the early lead in the 1st quarter. Avon North went 3 for 3 from the 3 point line, taking the lead 11 to 10 at the end of the 1st. Your Lady Dogs did not like trailing the the Orioles. BWMS came out and clamped down on defense, holding the Orioles to only 4 points and the 2nd. Your Lady Dogs crashed the boards and out rebounded the the Orioles, allowing for 2nd chance points. Your Lady Dogs led going into half time 22 to 15.  The Orioles of Avon North were not ready to give up and were not going away quietly. It was going to come down to who wanted it more. Your lady dogs proved to want it, coming away with the victory 43 to 36.  Seayona Bradley led the team in points with 15, followed by Payton Harmon with a career high of 10. Avery Bratcher, Katie Godlevske, Bailey Paddock, and Fallon Jones all contributed to the score. Fallon Jones took the only charge of the night. Bailey “Beast Mode” Paddock led  team in rebounds, followed by Chanelle Drummer and Fallon Jones. Kenna “The Coolest” Moore kept the energy alive on the injured reserve list.  Your Lady Dogs will be back in action this evening advancing to the 2nd round of the County  Tournament, facing East at East at 6:15. It’s all or nothing time!
